Lady Lucy is a registered charter boat which runs out
of Essex Marina Wallasea Island. We are ideally based on
the river crouch which enables us to explore the Thames
estuary and beyond as we have a 60 mile licence in any
direction.
This covers all types of fishing and because of the
shelter provided by the three rivers, trips are rarely
cancelled due to the elements.
Wallasea Marina holds no tide restrictions so you can
arrange your trip to suit you. Day trips 8 -24hr
available as well as night trips.
All the latest electronics', large deck ideal for
fishing. The boat also has a large wheel house with
toilet, galley and heating. We provide tea and coffee
all day and will cook any food that you bring along.
The
Thames estuary is a huge complex of sandbanks and
gullies, and at the mouth it forms a huge delta
encompassing three rivers,
The river Blackwater is the most northerly river of the
three and is home to the famous port of Bradwell.
Next is the river Crouch which is a smaller river than
the other two and is home to the well known Essex marina
at Wallasea Island on the south bank. Essex marina is
the oldest marina in the country.
The river Thames is the largest of the three and offers
sea angling potential from the Queen Elizabeth Bridge
right down river to the other two rivers and the North
Sea.
The estuaries hold many species, during the spring and
summer you can catch eels, flounders, plaice, bass,
thornback rays, smoothounds, stingray, dogfish,
mackerel, garfish, etc.
In the autumn the whiting and cod move in and these are
the mainstay of the fishing through to about March.
The cod fishing has been very good for the last couple
of years although the fish are about 2-6lbs they are
mostly returned to aid the recovery of the species.
Not all our fish are small the Thames estuary holds or
has held British records for smoothound, stingray, tope,
bass not to mention the Norway haddock.
"Lady Lucy" is licensed to carry 10 people. Full

Rod hire & bait included in trip and tuition is free.
